Mark Fitzgerald has thirty years of experience serving local government.  Mark served in public service positions as a local government manager and in the field of economic development, first as executive director of economic development corporations in Ohio and Maryland, then as consultant to local governments.

Mark began his career with the Dayton Urban League, Inc. where he specialized in housing and community development issues.  He then moved on to be the first executive director of a non-profit development corporation in Xenia, Ohio.  During his service in Xenia the corporation that began as a housing and neighborhood revitalization organization grew to be a full service economic and community development agency.  He also served as the first Executive Vice President of the Economic and Business Development Corporation of Montgomery County, Maryland; a Small Business Administration designated Development Corporation.

In addition to his community and economic development experience, Mark has served as Services Director of West Chester, Ohio, Village Administrator of Lockland, Ohio, Township Administrator of Union Township, Clermont County, Ohio and City Manager of Loveland, Ohio.

Mr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in Political Science.  He received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Dayton.

He has also been active in professional organizations, having served on the Boards of the Ohio Government Risk Management Association, the Greater Cincinnati Local Government Managers Association and The Center for Local Government.  He served a term as President his Community’s local Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership program.  He is a credentialed manager as a full member of the International City/County Management Association and a member of the Ohio City Management Association.
